The Wabash baseball team defeated Southwood at Southwood Monday 9-2.
Wabash would get off to a fast start, scoring 7 runs in the first inning. Landon Cole got things started with a bunt single and then stole second. Andrew Shepherd reached on a Knight error and was followed by Shea Beauchamp reaching on a error and 2 runs scoring, 2-0. Jordan Floor would then single, with the third Knight error occurring to score another run, 3-0. Roger Davis would walk and was followed by a 2 run double by Justin Holley, 5-0. Isiah Smith would then double home 2 more before the Knights got out of the inning.
In the third, Holley would single and was followed by a Cole walk. Shepherd would reach on a Southwood error that gave up another run and it was 8-0.
Wabash manufactured a run in the sixth with pinch runner Kyle Kelshiemer scoring on a passes ball, 9-0.
In the bottom of the seventh the Knights loaded the bases with two outs when Jackson Blair double home 2 runs, with the 3rd runner being thrown out at the plate to end the game, 9-2.
