Lady Squires Give #2 Rochester A Run For Their Money

The Manchester girls softball team lost a tough 5-4 decision to #2 ranked Rochester Wednesday.

The Lady Squires pushed Rochester to the end. The first four innings were a nail biter as neither team could plate a run. The Squires finally pushed across a run in the fifth and Rochester answered with a run.

Manchester would come back in the sixth to score three runs and lead 4-1, with Rochester coming back in the bottom of the inning with three runs to set up an exciting seventh inning.

Todd Volk: ”Tough loss tonight , but not without another great effort. Have lost 1 run games to 2 teams with a combined record of 49-1. (North Miami defeated Rochester earlier in the week). Girls are learning they can compete with anyone on any given day. Their hard work and discipline in hitting drills are starting to pay off as well.”
