The Manchester Squire Girls Tennis season came to an end Tuesday at the Culver Military Academy Regional.
Manchester lost to Culver 5-0.
Malyssa Bedke lost at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Megan Meztger lost at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Laurel Ruppert lost at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Natalee Cain and Katie Peden lost at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-1.
Tawni Kincaid and Amy Collett lost at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-0.
“Culver was simply at a level that our girls haven’t seen before,” said Squire co-coach Tim McLaughlin. “However, this match took nothing away from what the girls accomplished this season as a team. A conference and Sectional championship were our goals from the beginning of the season and the girls can hold their heads high knowing they achieved those goals. Our five seniors on varsity will be greatly missed, and the things they’ve accomplished this year can serve as lofty goals for Squire tennis players in the years that follow.” “It’s been a fun and fantastic year and Joel and I are very proud of all of the girls,” McLaughlin added.
