The Northfield boys basketball team had the task of taking on 2-0, 4A Columbia City Friday night on the road. After a rocky start, the Norse settled in, but were defeated 64-32.
The Norse were ran out of the gym in the first quarter, trailing 29-9 but continued to play hard and trailed 36-11 a the half.
Columbia City would out score Northfield just 28-19 in the second half for the 64-32 final.
Adam Roser led the Norse with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Ryan Keaffaber had 8 points, 1 rebound. 1 assist and 2 steals. Collin Dawes had 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assist and 2 steals. Tanner Wilcox had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Noah Shear had 3 points. Marcus Kroh had 1 point, 4 rebounds, 1 assist.
Coach Smedley comments: ” The boys played hard the entire game and never gave up. This was a good learning experience, and we will go back to work on Monday to prepare for Bluffton.”
The Norse junior varsity fell to Columbia City 43-27.
