The Manchester girls basketball team notched their first TRC win Friday with a 48-44 win over Whitko.
In a game that was as close the entire time as the out come, the Lady Squires had six players score with Kalene Freshour having a break out game.
The Squires were tied at 10 after one and led 22-20 at the half. With leading scorer Kayla Flack having an off night, Freshour picked up the slack, scoring 10 second half points to lead the Squires charge.
Whitko out scored Manchester 13-10 in the third quarter to take a one point lead heading to the fourth, but the Squires stepped on the gas in the fourth with their best scoring quarter of the night to pull out the win.
Kalene Freshour led with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals. Sydney Snep added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal. Autumn Brewer had 9 points, 8 rebounds. Kayla Flack had 3 points, 8 assist, 7 rebounds, 1 steal. Tabby DeWitt had 1 point, 2 rebounds.
Coach Underwood ” Total team effort tonight. All the girls really worked hard in practice last week and it showed tonight. I have tough kids on my team and I am really proud of them.”
The junior varsity fell 27-19 to Whitko.
Celina Carter led with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals. Shelby Johnson had 7 points, 6 rebounds.
