The Wabash boys basketball team had a first half Friday they would like to forget, only to show some grit and determination in the second half as they fell to Maconqauh 76-65.
The host Braves could do nothing wrong in the first half as they led the Apaches 25-9 after one and 40-14 at the half.
On the back of senior leader Breyton Nealis who pumped in 30 points, Wabash would play the Braves even in the third quarter and trailed 57-31 with a quarter to go.
The Apache run and gun game would kick in to full gear in the fourth as they pumbled the Braves for 34 points, but the first half deficit was to much as Maconaquah held on to defeat the Apaches.
Wabash was led by Breyton Nealis with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal. Tyler Brewer added 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks. Grant Sailors had 8 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block. Andrew Adamson had 6 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assist, 2 steals. Kodi Clemons had 4 points, 1 assist. Tyler King had 2 points, 2 rebounds.
