Lady Knights Stay On A Roll

The Southwood Lady Knight basketball team is on a roll. The Lady Knights took care of Bluffton Tuesday 48-19 to win their fifth game in a row and raise their season record to 6-2.

The Lady Knights exploded in the middle two quarters for the large margin. After leading just 9-5 after the first quarter, some stellar defense led to offense as Southwood out scored Bluffton 12-1 in the second to take a 21-6 halftime lead.

Using a balanced scoring attack, putting eight players in the scoring column, Southwood came out in the third quarter to put the game away early. The Lady Knights won the third quarter 20-8 to go up 41-14 with a quarter to go and cruised to the 48-19 win.

Leading the attach was Sarah White with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals. Amy Bowman had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assist. Ana Marie Farlow had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks. Mollie Harnish had 4 points, 1 rebound, 2 assist, 3 steals, 1 block. Kaley Harness had 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals. Haley Heath had 2 points, 2 assist, 2 steals. Aleesha Phillips had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Katie Stouffer had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block. Abby Houlihan had 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal.

The junior varsity bested Bluffton 39-26.

Aleesha Phillips led with 19 points, 3 assist, 3 steals. Danielle Pegg had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks. Emilie Harnish had 7 points, 2 steals. Haley Heath had 2 points, 3 rebounds. Grace Whitham had 6 rebounds. Josey Brubaker had 3 rebounds. Abby Houlihan had 3 rebounds, 2 assist.
