Norse Hold Off Apaches

The Northfield boys basketball team rebounded from a loss to Southern Wells on Tuesday to win a county and TRC battle against Wabash Friday 58-46.

The Norse led most of the first quarter when Apache Breyton Nealis nailed a half court three pointer at the buzzer to give Wabash a 20-19 lead after one quarter.

Northfield would tighten the defensive screws in the second quarter, holding Wabash to just 6 points, while scoring 14 to lead Wabash 33-26 at the half.

The Norse would out score the Apaches 25-20 in the second half for the 58-46 final.

Leading Northfield was Adam Roser with 20 Points, 3 steals, 2 assist. Marcus Kroh added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Tanner Wilcox had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assist. Ryan Keaffaber had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals. Collin Dawes had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal. Carter Frieden had 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Caleb Coe had 1 rebound.

Leading Wabash was Breyton Nealis with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assist, 2 steals, 1 block. Roger Davis had 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals. Tyler Brewer had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals. Grant Sailors had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal. Kodi Clemons had 1 rebound, 1 assist. Jordan Blair had 1 rebound.

Wabash won the junior varsity contest 43-37.
