After a sub par shooting performance Saturday in a loss to Southwood, the Wabash Lady Apache basketball team scorched the nets Tuesday in a 58-39 win over Eastbrook.
Eastbrook was coming in to the night riding a 5 game winning streak and had won 7 of their last 9 games. After a tight first half, a huge third quarter on both ends of the floor by the Lady Apaches buried the 9-3 Panthers.
The two teams battled to a 10-10 tie after the first quarter before Wabash opened a little breathing room in the second by out scoring Eastbrook 17-11 for a 27-21 lead at the half.
The third quarter would be the eye opener of how the Lady Apaches can shoot and defend as they erupted for 21 points while holding Eastbrook to just 6 points for a 48-27 lead.
Eastbrook would out score Wabash 12-10 in the fourth, as the Lady Apaches worked on depth putting 7 players in the scoring column.
From the field Wabash was 14 of 32 from two point range for 43.8% and 7 of 8 from behind the arch for 87.5%. The Lady Apaches shot 9 of 14 from the free throw line for 64.3%.
Leading the way was Claire Cromer with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assist, 1 steal. Charlie Pardo had 11 points, 4 rebounds. Lyndsie Thomas had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Kyleigh Hampton had 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 5 blocks. Katelyn Vogel had 6 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assist, 1 steal. Abby Stein had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Sarah Puckett had 3 points, 3 rebounds. Jaclyn Lewis had 1 assist, 1 steal.
