Lady Knights Dominate Maconaquah

The Southwood Lady Knight basketball team improved their season record to 12-4 Tuesday with a convincing 56-30 road win over Maconaquah.

Southwood came right out of the gate dominating play as they raced to a 15-7 first quarter lead and led 27-13 at the half.

Maconaquah would gain a little momentum as they out scored the Lady Knights 13-8 in the third quarter before a Southwood 21-4 explosion in the fourth left no doubt.

The Knights out rebounded Maconaquah 30-27 and had 17 assist.

Leading the way was Amy Bowman with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assist, 5 steals, 1 block. Katie Stouffer recorded a double double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 5 blocks. Kaley Harness had 9 points, 1 rebound, 6 assist, 1 steal. Sarah White had 7 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals. Ana Marie farlow had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals. Abby Houlihan had 2 points, 1 rebound. Mollie Harnish had 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steals, 1 block. Emily Lehner had 2 rebounds, 1 steal.

The junior varsity beat Maconaquah 21-19.

Aleesha Phillips led with 7 points. Haley Heath, Amanda Friend, Emily Lehner, Danielle Pegg, Abby Houlihan and Kelly Schmidt all had 2 points each.
