Since the Northfield girls basketball team implemented their new look, full court defense the Lady Norse have been stealing opponents blind, with Thursday topping them all. The Lady Norse had 21 steals, while holding Madison Grant to 18 points in a 45-18 win.
Just two players scored for Northfield in the first quarter, with Katie Stephan getting the first six. Birthday girl Arie Kennedy would then take the reins from Stephan, scoring the next six as Northfield led 12-2 after one.
The Lady Norse would score the first six points of the second quarter, with Kylie Echard, Sidney Reed and Stephan hitting. After a Madison Grant free throw the Lady Norse would go on an 8-0 run to end the quarter, holding the Argylls without a bucket to lead 26-3 at the half.
The Norse dominace would continue in the third quarter, getting buckets from Kennedy and Stephan to start the quarter before Madison Grant hit two free throws. Reed and Echard would then hit and the lob sided lead was 34-5. The Argylls finally got their first bucket with a three pointer that was quickly erased by a Sydney Eltzroth three and the Norse led 37-10 after three.
As the pattern goes the Norse started the fourth quarter doing the scoring. Sidney Reed and Payton Thomson hit to make it 41-10, when Madison Grant would score three buckets in a row to make it 41-16. Hannah Cole would hit the final two buckets for the Norse as they cruised to the 45-18 win.
Leading the way for the Norse was Katie Stephan with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, 1 block. Arie Kennedy had 8 points, 5 steals. Sidney Reed had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assist, 1 steal. Kylie Echard had 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals. Hannah Cole had 4 points. Sydney Eltzroth had 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 assist, 6 steals, 1 block. Payton Thomson had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Marlee Stefanatos had 1 steal.

The Lady Norse play Saturday at noon at home against TRC match up Whitko.
The Lady JV Norse improved to 10-6 on the season with a 19-15 victory over Madison Grant Thursday night. Jensen Zumbaugh led the Lady Norse in scoring with 8 points. Peyton Thomson had 5 points and 2 rebounds. Abby Keaffaber had 5 points and 5 rebounds. Sarah Driscoll led the team with 8 rebounds and contributed 1 point. The Lady JV Norse host Whitko on Saturday.
