Lady Knights Defend Home Court

The Southwood Lady Knights won their fourth straight game Tuesday, defending their home court with a 61-44 win over Southern Wells to improve their season record to 13-4.

The Lady Knights got off to a fast start, racing out to a 16-5 first quarter lead. Southwood would then win the second quarter 14-10 to double up on Southern Wells with a 30-15 halftime lead.

The Lady Raiders would use a burst of their own in te third quarter, out scoring Southwood 23-17 to cut in to the lead. The Knights led 47-38 after three.

The Southwood balanced attack would wear on the Raiders in the fourth, with the Knights putting seven different players in the scoring column for the game, out scoring Southern Wells 14-6 in the fourth for the 61-44 final.

Leading the way for Southwood was Sarah White with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assist, 4 steals. Amy Bowman had 12 points, 3 assist, 8 steals, 1 block. Emily Murphy had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. Katie Stouffer had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks. Kaley Harness had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steals. Mollie Harnish had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Haley Heath had 1 point.

The junior varsity was defeated by Southern Wells 26-14.

Abby Houlihan and Emily Lehner had 4 points each. Haley Heath, Emilie Harnish and Aleesha Phillips each had 2 points.
