The Manchester Lady Squires played their final regular season game before next week’s sectional, falling to Fairfield on senior night 49-36.
In a low scoring night for the Lady Squires, they were in striking distance in the first half, trailing just 9-6 after one and 20-17 at the half.
Manchester would get judt two buckets in the first quarter, both by senior Kayla Flack with Autumn Brewer adding two free throws.
The Squires would play Fairfield even in the second with each team scoring 11 points. Tabby DeWitt got in on the action with two buckets, while Flack drained a three. Brewer and Kalene Freshour also had buckets.
The third quarter would be the down fall for Manchester as they were out scored 16-7. Autumn Brewer would connect on two buckets with Freshour shipping in a bucket. The Ladt Squires trailed 36-24 after three.
Manchester would get back to double digit scoring in the fourth, but Fairfield held their own, out scoring Manchester 13-12 for the 49-36 final. Bekah Brunn hit a three in the quarter with Flack hitting three buckets.
Leading Manchester was Kayla Flack with 14 points, 3 assist, 7 rebounds, 4 steals. Autumn Brewer had 8 points, 1 assist, 5 rebounds. Tabby DeWitt had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Kalene Freshour had 4 points, 3 assist, 4 rebounds, 6 steals. Bekah Brunn had 3 points, 1 assist, 1 block, 5 rebounds, 2 steals. Sydney Snep had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.
The junior varsity fell 31-28.
Keali Carter had 8 points, 3 rebounds. Shelby Johnson had 4 points. Kaitlyn Parrett had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist.
