The Northfield boys basketball team hosted Oak Hill Thursday, clipping the Eagles wings 53-40.
Ryan Keaffaber and Collin Dawes got the Norse off to a hot start hitting back to back three pointers to give the Norse a 6-0 lead and they never looked back, leading at all stops. Northfield led 8-7 after the first quarter.
Keaffaber and Dawes would continue to carry the load in the second with Dawes hitting two more three pointers as the Norse increased their lead and were up 21-14 at the half.
The Norse started to spread the wealth in the third with Tanner Wilcox, Adam Roser and Jon Richarson joining the two seniors in the scoring column, as the Norse again won the quarter, 10-8 to lead 31-22 with a quarter to go.
Northfield saved their best scoring quarter for the fourth, out scoring Oak Hill 22-18 buy hitting free throws down the stretch for the 53-40 win.
Leading the Norse was Collin Dawes with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steals. Adam Roser had 9 points, 3 assist, 1 steal. Jon Richardson had 8 points, 2 rebounds. Ryan Keaffaber had 7 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assist, 1 steal. Tanner Wilcox had 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal. Marcus Kroh had 1 rebound. Noah Shear had 3 assist.
The junior varsity lost to Oak Hill 29-27.
