The Manchester varsity baseball team dug themselves in to an early hole, falling to Columbia City 11-6 Monday.
The Squires gave up 9 runs, 6 being unearned in the first two innings before righting the ship, but couldn’t make the complete comeback.
Manchester scored 2 in the second, 2 in the fourth and 2 in the fifth.
Evan Olinger had 1 hit, 1 rbi and 2 stolen bases. Branden Scott had 1 hit and 1 rbi. Jim Sainsbury, Jake Semler, Grant Schuler and Jurgin Cripe each had a hit. Justin Lewis had 1 rbi.
Coach Rupley ” Put ourselves in a big hole early. Kids did a great job of fighting back in to the game. We have to eliminate the bad inning.”
