The Northfield baseball game with North Miami was suspended in the sixth inning Wednesday because of lightning and thunder.
The Norse trailed 4-2 after two innings when the bats got hot in the third. Andy Roser was hit by a pitch and followed by a Shane Vigar single. Andy Maggart would then single home 2 runs to knot the game at 4. Dallas Hovey would then reach on a Warrior error that scored a run to give the Norse the lead. Collin Dawes would finish the scoring in the inning with an rbi single to give Northfield a 6-4 lead.
With starting pitcher Andy Roser bearing down, striking out 5 in 2 innings the Norse would pick up another in the fourth. Roser doubled and was followed by a Joseph Ross single that put runners on first and third. With two outs Jared Kirtlan singled home the seventh Norse run to lead 7-4.
The Norse added another single run in the fifth. Ryan Keaffaber and Ross walked with two outs, when Shane Vigar singled home a run.
In the top of the sixth North Miami was rallying when the lightning hit. The Warriors had scored 2 runs and had the bases loaded with 2 outs when the game was suspended.
The two teams will pick up where they left off Thursday, May 16th.
