Montgomery, Ala. – The Indiana Tech baseball team had its season come to a close after falling to No. 1 Faulkner University 15-2 on Saturday in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
The fourth-seeded Warriors were looking to avenge a loss to the top-seeded Eagles from earlier in the tournament, but Faulkner scored early and often to put the game out of reach early. The Eagles did all their damage in the first four innings plating five runs in the first, two in the second, three in the third, and five in the fifth.
Ben Christian (Lubbock, TX/Wayland Baptist) and Bryan Brudi (Churubusco, IN/Francis Marion) picked up two hits apiece as the Warriors finished with 12 hits on the afternoon. Zach Sailors (Wabash, IN/Wabash) suffered the loss. Senior pitcher Josh Flory (Greencastle, IN/South Putnam) was solid out of the bullpen tossing 4.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Tyler Denniston of Southwood was 1 for 3 at the plate.
Indiana Tech finished their season with a record of 33-18.
