Manchester University Director of Athletics Rick Espeset announced that Sara Emerich and Bryndon Paulsen have joined the Spartans’ athletics’ staff. Emerich will be an assistant for the Spartan softball program, while Paulsen will assist with the MU volleyball program.
Emerich, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from West Liberty (Va.) University in May 2013, previously was a volunteer coach for different-age summer league teams around her hometown of DeGraff, Ohio, as well as being a camp director at KenMont KenWood softball camp in the summer of 2010. During her collegiate career, she pitched for the Hilltoppers, compiling 10 wins, 15 complete games and 87 strikeouts during her senior season, and Wilmington College of Ohio.
Paulsen, who earned a Master of Science degree in sport management from Western Illinois University in May 2013 and Bachelor of Arts degree in kinesiology and physical education from Clarke University of Iowa in December of 2010, held positions as graduate assistant coach for the WIU women’s team from August 2011-May 2012 and volunteer assistant coach for Clarke’s men’s team and the University of Dubuque women’s team from August 2010-April 2011 before joining the Manchester University staff. Paulsen also played collegiately at Clarke from 2006-10 which included being part of back-to-back winning seasons for the Crusaders in 2009 and 2010.
