Lady Squires Fall To Canterbury

The Manchester varsity volleyball team fell in straight sets to Canterbury Tuesday, 19-25, 14-25, 18-25.

The Squires had several aces for the evening. Both Rae Bedke and Kendra Binkley had a pair, while Cierra Carter and Sydney Snep had 1 each.  Corrie Osborne led the night with 4 kills, Snep followed with 3 and both Leah Sorg and Binkley had 2. Madison Isbell ended with 1 kill.  Manchester had three solo blocks throughout the night by Binkley, Osborne, and Isbell.  They all also had a block assists as did Snep. Marret Metzger ran the back row with 8 digs, Cali Spann had 4, and Carter, Bedke, and Kaitlyn Parrett each had 3.  Ellie Milam managed 2 digs and Kiana Gillum had 1.  The majority of the assists went to setter, Bedke with 10, with Metzger and Parrett having 1 as well.

The junior varsity defeated Canterbury 25-16, 22-25, 15-9. Celina Carter led the team 9 digs, Leiah Brandenburg had 5, Ali Casper had 4, and Allison Smith had 3.  The only block, a solo block, was by Karly Eichenauer. Aces were contributed by several players: Casper had 3, Brandenburg had 4, Hallie Sorg had 1, Allison Smith had 3, and Celina Carter had 1.  Setter Ali Casper ended her night with 11 assists. The top hitter was Brandenburg with 5 kills. Both Sorg and Eichenauer had 3 kills while both Jordan Michel and Smith had 2.  Alyssa Spann, Carter, and Lindsay Walters each had 1 kill.
