Lady Knight 8th Wins Southwood Invite

The Southwood Lady Knight 8th grade volleyball team won their own 8 team invitational Saturday.

Southwood defeated Lakeview 25-17, 25-22, Northfield 25-10, 25-8, Wabash 25-23, 25-17, Rochester 25-19, 25-19.

The Northfield Lady Norse 8th grade volleyball team placed 7th.

Kiana Kendall had 15 kills and 30 digs for the day. Ava Smith had 31 good sets and 10 aces while Braelyn Deeter added 23 good receptions and 30 digs.

The Wabash 8th Grade Volleyball Team came in 5th at the Southwood Invitational, splitting matches with Northfield 23-25/25-16, and Lakeview, 16-25/25-19, losing to Host Southwood 23-25/17-25, and defeating Tip Valley 25-22/9-25/15-3 in their final match of the day. The Lady Apache 8th Grade Volleyball Team is now 5-4-2.
The Manchester 8th grade volleyball team finished 4th out of 8 teams at the Southwood Tournament held Saturday, September 29th. In pool play the Lady Squires beat Tippecanoe Valley 25-15, 25-20; North Miami 25-14, 25-13; and lost to Rochester 15-25, 7-25.

In tourney play, Manchester fell to a very strong Lakeview team 8-25, 6-25 to finish 4th place overall.

The Lady Knights split with Wabash 25-18, 13-25, beat Rochester 25-15, 25-18, Northfield 25-24, 25-19, then lost to Lakeview 17-25, 14-25 in the championship.

The Manchester 7th grade volleyball team posted a strong 3rd place finish at the Southwood Tourney Saturday, September 28.  In pool play, Manchester split with North Miami, losing the first game 22-25 but taking the second game 25-14.  Manchester played Tippecanoe Valley in their second pool match of the day.  After digging a 13-3 hole, Manchester battled back to take game one 25-24.  Manchester also won game two 25-15.  In their final pool match of the day, Manchester played a strong Lakeview team, losing game one 25-7.  The team played much better in game 2, losing a tough game 21-25.  Manchester’s 3-3 pool play record allowed the team to finish 2nd in their pool of 4 teams.
In the tournament championship round, Manchester played Wabash, who finished 2nd in the other 7th grade pool.  This round was played in a best 2 out of 3 format, with Manchester taking the match in two games to earn the 3rd place finish.  Game 1 was an evenly matched battle, with Manchester squeeking out the victory 25-24.  Manchester was down 9-0 in game 2, before rallying back to get the win 25-23.

The Wabash 7th Grade Volleyball Team competed in the Southwood Invitational on Saturday. Southwood and Wabash tied the first match, with Southwood defeating Wabash 25-13, and Wabash winning over Southwood 25-18. The 5 point difference in the scores gave Southwood the opportunity to compete in the Championship Match later in the day, since neither team lost to any other opponent in their pool. The placement went head to head, points allowed against each other.

The 7th Grade Lady Apaches won over Northfield 25-11/25-12, and Rochester 25-10/25-20. In the battle for 3rd place Wabash lost to North Manchester in a very tight match 24-25/23-25. The Wabash 7th Grade Volleyball Team placed 4th
 in the tournament, and are now 9-1-1.
