Manchester/Southwood JH Volleyball Splits

The Manchester and Southwood junior high volleyball teams split a pair of matches Monday with Manchester winning the 7th grade and Southwood the 8th.

Manchester’s 7th grade volleyball team improved to 6-3-1 on the season with a win over conference rival Southwood.  Manchester won the match 19-25, 25-11, 15-13.  The team was led in scoring by Greta Auler with 10 points on 2 aces and Anna Osborne with 8 points on 2 aces.  Emma West added 5 points (1 ace), Kasi Casper had 4 points (2 aces), and Halie Wampler had 3 points.  Osborne, Casper & Kennedy Lauer each had 3 kills, while West and Kelsey Eichenauer added 2 kills each.  Wampler also had 1 kill.  West provided 4 assists and Wampler had 1.

Coach West ”I was really proud of how the girls battled back after dropping game 1 of the match.  We served and passed much better in games 2 and 3, and the girls worked together as a team to earn the victory.”

Southwood won the 8th grade contest 25-17, 25-14.

For Manchester Mattie McKee had 2 kills and 1 ace. Kennedy Rosen had 2 kills. Sydney Day had 1 ace, 1 kill, and several digs. Alicia Fields and Lindsay Egner had 1 ace each. Setters Kendra Auler and Madison Sorg had 3 and 1 assists respectively.
