Lady Knights Win Battle Of Metro In JH Volleyball

The Southwood 7th grade lady knights added another win to their season, making them 8-1. The Lady Knights dropped the first set 21-25 but coming back to beat Northfield 25-14 and 15-10. MaKenna Proffitt scored 8 service points, 4 aces, 1 assist, 2 kills, 4 digs. Allison Steele had 1 service point, 1 ace, 2 digs. Hally Sweet stepped up to score 4 service points, 3 aces, 2 assists, 1 kill, 1 dig. Erin Lehner had 3 service point, 3 kills, 5 digs. Kayla Mays 10 service points, 3 aces, 1 dig. And MaKenna Pace led the service point tally with 13 service point, 7 aces, 4 kills, 1 assist, 3 digs.

The lady knights continued into a B-game set with Northfield, falling 10-15 but putting up a good fight. Britaney Bailey had 2 service points, 2 aces, Jayda Barnum had 2 service points, 2 aces, 1 assist, Cerenna Eakright had 5 service points, 1 ace, 2 digs, Jaeden Younce 2 service points, 2 aces. Kirsten Pescenye and Torey Holloway got their hands dirty too, helping the lady knights give Northfield a good fight.

The Southwood 8th Grade Volleyball Team took on Northfield at home on Monday, winning 25-20, 25-20. On the night, Jessica Brubaker had 1 service point, 1 ace, 4 digs; Noell Gottschalk had 2 service points, 1 kill, 1 ace, 3 digs; Alissa Pershing had 8 service points, 1 kill, 2 digs; Kassity Simpson had 6 service points, 3 kills, 3 assists, 2 aces, 3 digs; Keagan Simpson had 7 service points, 4 aces, 3 digs; Trinidy Wyatt had 2 assists; and Paige Young had 6 service points, 5 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, and 1 dig. The 8th grade is currently 5 and 4 on the season. They will return to action Thursday, September 25th at home against Bluffton.

Sidney Prater and Lillie Evans both had five digs for the Norse, with Kirsten Light adding four. Ally Keaffaber had four serving aces and Hope Unger had three.
