The Northfield Girls Cross Country team placed 2nd in the 28 team West Noble Invitational on Saturday. Jenna Halderman led the way with a 3rd place finish. Brittany Sloan and Karla Singer also received medals by placing in the top 20. Rounding out the scoring was Natasha Leland, Olivia Thompson, Jacklyn Peas, and Cait Eltzroth. Indi Shear ran a seasons best time.
The girls were lead by a 4th place finish as Emily Lehner ran a personal best time of 19:43. Also running season best times were Haley Heath and Ellie White, who finished 10th and 11th respectively. Taylor Heath, Kassidy Atwood, and Brooke Elliot also ran their best times and finished 21st, 30th, and 41st. Rounding out the girl’s team was Emma Peebles in 78th. Emmy Titus ran a PR in the JV race and will compete with the varsity Tuesday at Southwood.
The boys team had a dramatic improvement from last year as they finished 4th out of the field. In front for the Knights was Josiah Friedersdorf, who ran a personal best time of 17:28 and finished 10th. Also running a PR was Aaron Ross, who finish 20th. Michael Lengel came in 3rd for the boys and finished 29th overall. Chase Guenin, Jonathan Collins, and Justin Lawson all had personal records as well as they finished 31st, 43rd, and 46th. Lucas Topliff nearly PR’d and finished 90th.
