Southwood/Manchester JH Volleyball Splits

The Southwood 7th grade volleyknights added a win Monday against Manchester to raise their season record to 14-1.

Erin Lehner and MaKenna Pace led the team in service points with 10 service points and 4 aces for Lehner and 8 service points and 3 aces for Pace. Madison Johnson was close behind with 6 service points and 2 aces. Leading the night with kills was MaKenna Proffitt with 3 kills, Lehner, Kayla Mays, Kirsten Pescenye, and Allison Steele close behind with 2 kills a piece. Hally Sweet led the team with 2 assists, Jayda Barnum and Pace with 1 assist as well. Mays led the board in digs with 6 for the night, Pace following close behind with 5 digs.

The 7th grade B-team added another victory to the night, defeating Manchester’s B team 15-10. Britaney Bailey and Jaeden Younce led the team with 1 kill a piece. Cerenna Eakright and Torey Holloway passed it up in the backrow, each with 2 digs. Torey Holloway also dressed for the 8th grade team tonight. Jayda Barnum and Torey Holloway each had 1 service point and 1 ace. But Kirsten Pescenye led the girls with 3 service points and 2 aces.

Manchester was led in scoring by Samantha Kissell who had 7 points on 1 ace.  She added 1 assist and 1 dig.  Kyrsten Eakright led the team in kills with 7 and also had 4 points on 3 aces and 1 block.  Andrea Kahn had 6 points on 4 aces.  Lydia Greer had 4 points on 2 aces, 1 kill and 2 digs.  Mackenzie Day had 4 points, 1 assist and 2 digs.

The Manchester 8th grade volleyball team upped their record to 4-3-3 with a “total team effort” win over Southwood 25-19, 25-14. Leading the way for the Lady Squires was Kasi Casper with 15 service points, 8 aces, 3 kills, 1 assist and 4 digs. Halie Wampler added 7 service points with 5 aces, 1 kill and 3 assists. Emma West served 5 points with 3 aces. West lead the way defensively with several digs and saves. Kennidy Lauer had 2 service points, 2 kills, 3 digs and 2 blocks. Anna Osborne had 1 service point and 3 kills. Kelsey Eichenauer had 2 service points with 1 ace. Greta Auler also contributed both offensively and defensively.

For Southwood Jessica Brubaker had 2 service points, 2 passes; Alissa Pershing had 2 service points, 2 kills, 1 dig; Kassity Sipson had 7 service points, 2 kills, 2 assists, 5 aces, 1 dig; Keagan Simpson had 3 service points, 1 kill, 2 aces, 1 dig; Trinidy Wyatt had 2 service points, 2 kills; Paige Young had 1 dig; and Tori Holloway had 1 dig.
