Lady Squires Defeat Oak Hill

The Squire teams both advance their records with a win over Oak Hill for both the JV and Varsity tonight.  JV won in 2 games: 25-20 & 25-14.  Varsity pulled off a game one win with a slow start, lost a lead we had in game two to lose, but finished the next two games strong: 25-23, 19-25, 25-22, & 25-17.

JV serving aces were led by Alyssa Spann with 5, Kennedy Rosen, Leiah Brandenburg, and Paige Wagoner each had 3 a piece, while Sydney Day collected 1.  Day also led the team in digs with 4, followed by Karly Eichenauer with 3, the four following players each had 2: Madison Sorg, Mattie McKee, Wagoner, and Rosen.  Wagoner handed out 9 assists on the night.  Hitters were led by Brandenburg with 5 kills, McKee grabbed 4, Day had 3, Kendra Auler rounded up 2, and Rosen finished up with 1.
For varsity, ace leaders tied at 2 by Cierra Carter, Rae Bedke, and Leah Sorg.  Following them with 1 a piece were Corrie Osborne, Marret Metzger, Kendra Binkley, and Ellie Milam.  Kills were led by Binkley with 8, though Carter and Osborne were right behind her each with 7, Sorg grabbed 4, Isbell landed 3, Metzger managed 2, and Day & Bedke rounded out the night with 1.  Bedke handed out 28 assists while Sorg stuck in 2 of her own.  Isbell had the only solo block of the night, while Osborne and Carter each shared in 2 blocks assists each. Ellie Milam led us in digs tonight with 16, Kait Parrett was at 11, Metzger had 9, Bedke got 8, Casper was at 7, and the following players rounded out at 2 each: Carter, Binkley, Sorg, and Osborne.
Coach Brown ”It was nice to get another win, especially to have my team beat the team I once played for back in the day.  It was a good experience for the girls and we were able to walk away happy at the end of the night knowing that we played well and have the win to show for that.”
