The Northfield volleyball team had another great night on the court, making short work of North Miami 25-16, 25-10, 25-18 Thursday.
The Lady Norse wasted no time setting the tone for the night, going to Cherish Leming and Holly Dyson early to build a 5-2 lead. Tori Snyder would then get in on the action with two kills as 7 of the first 8 Northfield points came on kills. Up 11-4 the Norse had a small letdown with North Miami scoring four straight to close the gap to 11-8 before an Arie Kennedy kill got them going again. Leming would record a block with Kennedy and Liz Howenstine getting kills to open a 17-10 lead then score three of the next four to go up 20-11 on two Cassidy Miller kills. At 22-15 Snyder would nail a kill then serve an ace with Leming ending game one with a kill and a 25-16 win.
The Norse would continue to roll in game two, jumping out to an 8-2 lead with kills from Howenstine, Miller and Kennedy while Leming had a block and Dyson two aces. North Miami would cut the lead to 10-5 when the Norse put it away. Arie Kennedy pounded back to back kills followed by a kill from Dyson and three aces from Howenstine to lead 16-5. The Norse would go on to win game two 25-10.
North Miami would get the first point of game three before Liz Howenstine got a kill followed with kills from Cassidy Miller and Holly Dyson to lead 4-1. The Warriors would chip their way back, tying the score at 6 when Tori Snyder took over. Snyder would serve two bullets for aces as the Norse grabbed a 13-8 lead and maybe letdown just a little as North Miami would score the next six points to take a 14-13 lead. The Lady Norse would respond however, getting a back row kill from Lauren Early and two kills from Cherish Leming to score six of the next seven points for a 19-15 lead. Down the stretch the Norse would score two points for every one from North Miami for the 25-18 win and a 3-0 sweep.
