Northfield/Manchester JH Volleyball

The Northfield junior high volleyball teams hosted Manchester Thursday. While covering the high school match in the west gym we were able to sneak over for some junior high pics.

The Manchester 8th grade volleyball team picked up a win over RRC rival Northfield on Thursday, October 9th, 25-12, 22-25, 15-12. The Lady Squires dominated game 1 with aggressive serving and solid offense. Serving errors proved fatal in game 2. In game 3, clutch serving by Morgan Stroud and Emma West along with kills by Halie Wampler and Kasi Casper sealed the victory for the Lady Squires.

“This win was a total team effort. All 8 girls contributed in one way or another. They kept their composure in game 3; I am really proud of the way they handled themselves.”

Emma West had 19 service points with 6 aces. West also had 12 digs. Kasi Capser had 5 service points iwth 2 aces, 6 kills and 3 digs. Anna Osborne had 2 service points, 1 kill and 8 assists. Halie Wampler had 1 service point, 4 kills and 5 assists. Kelsey Eichenauer had 1 service point, 1 kill and 1 dig. Morgan Stroud had 4 service points with 4 aces and 1 dig. Kennidy Lauer had 2 kills and 2 digs. Greta Auler had 1 kill.

For Northfield Ally Keaffaber had 12 good passes, 6 digs, and 4 kills. Kirsten Light had 5 good passes and 2 digs. Erin Proebstle had 7 good serves. Kelcie Thomson had 7 assists with 3 kills.

The Manchester 7th grade volleyball team won a hard-fought match against RRC rival Northfield Thursday, October 9, by the score of 25-17, 24-25, 15-13.  The Lady Squires were led by Lydia Greer who had 12 points on 7 aces, 2 kills & 2 digs and Andrea Kahn who had 12 points on 2 aces, 1 kill & 5 digs.  Mackenzie Day had 11 points on 4 aces, 2 assists & 2 digs.  Sarah Pegg added 6 points on 2 aces, 2 kills & 1 dig.  The team’s offensive attack was led by Kyrsten Eakright who tallied 7 kills and Samantha Kissell who provided 5 assists.  Ranissa Shambarger added 2 points & 2 digs and Rebekah Pyle had 1 dig.
The team is now 6-4-2 on the season and hosts another RRC rival, Wabash, on Monday, October 13 at 6 pm.
