Max Carter scored two touchdowns and Clayton Tomlinson added another as the Northfield 6th grade team concluded it’s season with a 20-0 win over Manchester. Kaiden Pence also scored a two point conversion for Northfield as they finished a very successful season with a 7-2 overall record. The team was comprised of fifteen sixth grade students from Sharp Creek Elementary and two from Manchester. Northfield played in the Central Indiana Conference under a sponsorship from the Wabash County YMCA. The Norse won the CIC Northern division with a 6-0 record while playing against much larger schools. They outscored their opponents 136-18 before losing to a very tough Elwood team 36-14 for the overall conference championship. The only other loss was to Tipton by a score of 8-6. Team members include Jayden Peas, Jarret Shafer, Aiden Gohring, Clayton Tomlinson, Alex Haupert, Camden Peterson, Max Carter, Micah Higgins, Blayne Powell, Dakota France, Gregory Brault, James Myers, Logan Cox, Grant Warmuth, Kaiden Pence, Dayne Pefley, and Paul Labonte. The team was coached by Tory Shafer and Stan Cox. The team would like to thank Bill Barrows of the Wabash County YMCA, the coaching staff of Northfield High School, the Athletics Department of Northfield High School, and the parents of all of these fine young men.
