Lady Knights Even Season Record

The Southwood Lady Knight basketball team traveled to Madison-Grant on Monday night for a non-conference game, defeating the host Argylls 56-49. After starting the season 0-3, the Lady Knights evened their season record to 3-3.

Southwood trailed 15-13 after the first stop before doubling up on the Argylls in the second quarter 20-10 to take a 33-25 lead to the locker room.

The Lady Knights would add to their lead in the third, winning the quarter 12-9 to extend their lead to 45-34 with one quarter to play. Madison Grant would out score Southwood in the fourth 15-11, but the Knight lead was enough to hold off Madison Grant 56-49.

The Lady Knights placed four girls in double figures: Brooke Elliott with 20, Katie Stouffer with 12; Haley Heath added 11 and Abby Houlihan finished with 10. Makenna Dawes wrapped up scoring with 3 points.

The Lady Knights out rebounded the Lady Argyles 37 to 31. Stouffer and Eliott both grabbed 8 rebounds while Haley Heath had 7 rebounds. Atwood had 4, Houlihan with 3 and Taylor Heath with 3.

Stouffer and Haley Heath each had 5 assists, Stouffer added 2 blocks and Haley Heath had 6 pass deflections.

The Knight junior varsity fell to Madison Grant 48-12.

The Lady Knights struggled to click on the offensive end without two of their leading scorers, who were called up to varsity. Lorynn Hunt lead the way with 4 points, and 2 rebounds. Josey Brubaker had 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Ellie White had 2 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

The Lady Knights will host the Rochester Zebras on Saturday
