The Northfield Lady Norse varsity girls’ basketball team improved to 4-3 (1-0) with a 38-19 win over Manchester Saturday night.
The Lady Norse turned in yet another solid defensive effort, holding Manchester scoreless in the first quarter while allowing only 19 points.
Northfield led 9-0 after the first stop and 18-6 at the half.
Manchester cut the Norse lead to 20-10 when Northfield went on a 9-2 run to end the quarter and led 29-12 with a quarter to go.
Northfield won the fourth quarter 9-7 on their way to the 38-19 final.
Arie Kennedy led Northfield with 12 points. Jacklyn Peas added 11, Cherish Leming 8.
Leading Manchester was Drew Thompson with 6 points. Cierra Carter added 4, Bailey Sewell 3, Celina Carter 2, Ellie Milam 2, Tiffany Johnson 2.
