The Southwood boys basketball team was still in the hunt for a TRC title as they traveled to Rochester Friday. Things didn’t look good for the Knights in the first half as they trailed by 13 before a second half offensive explosion lifted Southwood over Rochester 51-45.
The Knights got off to a horrid start, trailing 14-6 after the first stop and 23-10 at the half before the tide turned in the second half.
Making some halftime adjustments the Knights exploded for 22 points in the third while holding the Zebras to 11 to close the gap to 34-32 with a quarter to go. The Knight third quarter momentum carried over to the fourth, building a 10 point lead before winning 51-45.
