Manchester 8th Wins RRC

The Manchester 8th grade boys basketball team won the RRC tournament Saturday at North Miami, defeating Rochester 41-36 in the semi final, then topping Southwood 42-28 in the championship.

Against Rochester Brayden Casper had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 block. Kam Lester added 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 block. Ethan Davis had 5 points, 4 rebounds, Logan Parrett 3 points, 3 rebounds, Logan Isbell 3 points, Konrad Borgmann 2 points.

In the championship against Southwood Brayden Casper led with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Kam Lester added 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 steals, 1 block. Logan Isbell had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Ethan Davis added 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals. Mason Myers had 2 points.

The Squires finished the season 17-2.

Wabash 7th grade boys lost championship game of RRC tournament to host North Miami.

Wabash started the day of with a thrilling overtime victory over county rival Southwood. The Apaches and Knights went back and fourth all game exchanging the lead multiple times before the Apaches were able to finally come out on top with score of 34-32. Offensively the Apaches were led by Dereck Vogel and Trenton Daughtry with 11 points apiece. With the win the Apaches advanced to the championship game against North Miami.

The Apaches lost the championship game 58-41. The Apaches were led offensively by James Booth with 11 and Dereck Vogel with 8 points. However, the Apache defense was clearly outmatched and had no answer for the powerful North Miami offense. The 7th grade Apaches finish 15-4 on the season.
