Manchester senior wrestler Clayton Moore is headed to the state finals for the second straight year by winning the 138lb class at the Ft Wayne semi state Saturday.
Moore started the day by defeating Jacob Mausar of Elkhart Central 11-1, then topped Exuse Brown of Muncie Central 8-2 to secure his trip to the state finals, but Clayton wasn’t finished. Moore then defeated Jay Franko of Jimtown 12-4 to make it to the championship match where he defeated Brad Laughlin of Yorktown 7-1 for the title.
Other county wrestlers in the semi state were Skyler Hall and Tony Hough of Wabash, Drake Heitz of Northfield and Quinten Moore of Manchester.
Skyler Hall wrestled at 132lbs, falling in a first round fall to Ryan Shaffer of New Haven.
Quinten Moore fell in the first round of the 152lb class in a 3-0 decision to Garrett Griffin of Northwood.
At 182lbs Tony Hough fell in the first round to Corbin Maddox of Daleville 15-7. Drake Heitz fell in the first round to Hunter Hiestand of Yorktown by fall.
