It took two overtimes Tuesday for the Manchester boys basketball team to pick up their 15th win of the season as the Squires held on for a 53-51 double overtime thriller over Triton.
The Squires trailed 12-9 after the first stop with Koehl Fluke hitting a three while Chainey Zolman and David McAtee added buckets. Manchester would rebound in the second, winning the quarter 19-8 to grab a 28-20 lead at the half. The Squires got a three from Branden Scott while hitting 6 free throws. David McAtee led Manchester in the quarter with 8 points. Koehl Fluke chipped in 6.
The Squires would build their lead by one in the low scoring third, winning the quarter 8-7 to lead 36-27 with a quarter to go before a fourth quarter Triton rally tied the score at at 41 at the end of regulation. The two teams would play to a 5-5 tie in the first quarter before the Squires won the second 7-5 for the 53-51 final.
Leading Manchester was Chainey Zolman with 16 points. David McAtee added 14, Koehl Fluke 9, Braydon Sewell 7, Branden Scott 3, Chase Fierstos 2, Cameron Brandenburg 2.
The Manchester junior varsity defeated Argos 46-28.
Leading the Squires was Braxtin Wilson with 10 points. Bailey Ness added 9, Kane Gable 6, Nathan Self 4, Adam Byers 4, Levi Hicks 3, Jake Schannep 2, Nick Huang 2, Parker Yard 2, Hayes Sturtsman 2, Heath Dierks 2.
