Manchester Volleyball Suffers First Loss

The Manchester volleyball team went on the road and suffered their first loss of the season, losing to Winamac 14-25, 12-25, 20-25.

For varsity, our serving leader was Kendra Auler with 2 aces. The following girls all got 1 ace: Cierra Carter, Corrie Osborne, Kendra Binkley, and Emma West. Our back row was run by Ali Casper and Cierra Carter each collecting 7 digs. Corrie Osborne had 6 and then the following girls all managed 2 digs on the night: Emma West, Kendra Auler, and Kendra Binkley. At the net, block assists were made by Sydney Day, Cierra Carter, and Corrie Osborne. Kills were led both Carter and C. Osborne with 3 a piece. Binkley and Day each had 2 kills and Anna Osborne rounded us out with 1 kill. Setter Auler dished out 5 assists and C. Osborne had 6 on the night.

Coach Brown ”We’ve got to learn to fight a little better when the game calls for it and I think we realized that tonight against a team that is pretty good. We finally started picking up on that in game three, but it came too little too late. We seen things we can work on to improve for this weekends tourney at Elwood”.

The junior varsity fell 22-25, 15-25.

In JV action, aces were led by Kennidy Lauer and Emma West each with 2. Emma Casper and Paige Wagoner each collected an ace as well. A three way tie at the net for most kills was Kennedy Rosen, Kennidy Lauer, and Emma Casper with 3. Greta Auler input 2 kills while West and Alicia Fields rounded out with 1. Casper dished out 4 assists, Wagoner had 5, and West managed 2. In defensive action, Wagoner led with 7 digs. She was followed by West with 4. Lauer and Auler dug 3, Fields 2, and Casper 1. Rosen had the only solo block of the night.
