Fresh off a good showing at the Tom-A-Hawk tournament Saturday the Wabash volleyball team was back in action Monday, hosting Oak Hill.
The Lady Apaches trailed just once the entire night as they took care of the Golden Eagles 25-19, 25-17, 25-12.
Wabash got off to a good start in game one, jumping out to a 5-2 lead off a kill from Brooke Irgang and an ace from Angela Levine. Wabash would maintain their small lead until 22-19 when Taylor Cain had two kills and a block to give the Apaches game one 25-19.
Again it was a good start in game two, racing out to a 7-3 lead. Sam Irgang led the charge with two kills. Oak Hill would scratch their way back in the game, tying the score at 12 when Wabash took control. Sydni Mullett scored on a tip that ignited a 9-1 run to give the Apaches a 21-13 lead. During the run Kristin Cromer and Mullett each had an ace. Wabash would score the last three points with Brooke Irgang ending the game with an ace for a 25-17 win and a 2-0 lead.
Jaycee Parrett would record a kill early in game three as Wabash jumped out to a 7-4 lead before Oak Hill tied the score at 9. Wabash would then score five straight, aided by a tip to the corner from Parrett and go on a 9-1 run to open a 21-12 lead on their way to the 25-12 win and a 3-0 sweep.
