The Southwood Cross Country teams competed at Southern Wells last night in dual meet action. The boys team, led by Josiah Friedersdorf, had a perfect score and defeated Southern Wells 15-40. Following Josiah were Aaron Ross, Luke Winer, Jonathan Collins, Justin Lawson, and Lucas Topliff.
The Girls team also defeated Southern wells by a score of 20-39. The girls took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively by Morgan Farr, Kassidy Atwood, and Ellie White and were followed up by strong performances by Taylor Heath, Makayla Bechtold, Monica Coffelt, Jeana Friedersdorf, Eva Goff, and Spring Applegate
The boys and girls move on from dual meet action to Saturday Invitational slates starting this Saturday at the Field of Dreams in Wabash.
The Boys’ Jr. High Cross Country team had solid individual performances that resulted in a team victory over Southern Wells last evening. Braden Sweet led the team in a respectable 11:59 pace that was good enough for a 3rd place finish overall. Alix Winer was close behind finishing 4th with a Personal Record of 12:47. Landon Topliff also set a new PR of 13:12, finishing in 5th place. In just their 2nd competitive race, Cayden Prickett and Zach Roudebush rounded out the scoring for the Knights in 6th and 8th place. both setting PR’s of 13:56 and 14:15. Skyler Amos finished 9th overall with a PR of 14:53. Jayden Timmons finished with a Season Best of 15:22.
