The Wabash and Manchester volleyball teams hooked up in a county rivalry and TRC match up Thursday at Wabash with the Lady Apaches winning in four 25-20, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22.
Manchester would control game one early, using a 5 point run off three aces from Cierra Carter to lead 5-2 and held the lead until 11-8 when the Apaches went on a roll. With Jaycee Parrett serving Wabash rattled off 5 straight to grab the lead 13-11, then scored 4 more after a Manchester point for a 17-12 score. Emma West would serve the Squires back to 17-15 when Sydni Mullett and Sam Irgang took over at the net to increase the Wabash lead to 21-15. The Lady Squires wouldn’t give in, getting kills from Mattie McKee and Kendra Binkley to score 5 of the next 6 points to make it 22-20 before Brooke Irgang recorded 2 kills to end game one 25-20.
Wabash would take the early lead in game two, jumping out to a 7-4 lead and led 11-8 when the Squires went running. Taking advantage of Wabash errors and getting a kill from McKee the Squires scored 6 straight to take a 14-11 lead. Behind the Irgang sisters the Apaches would fight back, scoring 6 of the next 8 to take the lead back 17-16 before the Squires mounted a second run. An ace from Ali Casper and a kill from Binkley gave Manchester 5 straight points to lead 21-17 and at 22-20 got 2 kills from Carter and a block from Anna Osborne to take game two 25-20.
Game three was back and forth at the start with Manchester leading 7-6 when Wabash did the running. Angela Levine got the 8 point run started with a kill with Kristin Cromer nailing two kills and Brooke Irgang 3 aces to grab a 15-6 lead. Manchester would battle, but the Lady Apaches had the gas pedal down and led 22-12 before a 5 point Squire run made it 22-17. Wabash would get an ace from Sam Irgang and a kill from Jaycee Parrett to end the game, 25-18.
On a hot muggy night the Squires had their back to the wall and the Apaches were looking to get out of the heat. The lead bounced back and forth early with the scored tied at 6 when Wabash made a move. With Jaycee Parrett serving the Apaches scored 3 straight and scored 6 of the next 7 to grab a 12-7 lead, but behind kills from Binkley and Carter the Squires got it back to 15-12 with the 3 point lead staying until 19-16. After a Wabash point on a kill from Parrett, Manchester would score four straight with Casper serving and tie the game at 20. Wabash would then score 3 straight, followed by 2 straight from Manchester to make it 23-22 before Kristin Cromer ended the night with a tip 25-22.

Manchester Varsity serving was led by Cierra Carter with 4 aces. Following her was Ali Casper and Kendra Binkley with 3 each and Corrie Osborne got 2 aces. Kills were led by Binkley with 13, Carter had 9, McKee had 4, both Day and C. Osborne had 3. Assists were given by C. Osborne with 12 and Auler with 9. Casper and Carter each helped hitters with an assist each. In the backrow, Carter led the team with 10 digs, Casper with 9, Eichenauer & C. Osborne each had 8, Wagoner grabbed 6, Auler had 5, West with 4, and the following all contributed a single dig: Day, McKee, and Anna Osborne. Blocking was led by pair Day and Carter with 2 block assists and 1 solo block each. C. Osborne added in 2 block assists and McKee & A. Osborne each had 1 block assist.

In JV action for night, Kennedy Rosen and Kennidy Lauer each got the teams only aces for the night. Hitting was led by both Emma Casper and Rosen with 2 kills a piece, single kills were finished up by Paige Wagoner and Lauer. Casper dished out the two assists for the night while West & Wagoner each contributed one. Digs were led by Wagoner with 16 followed by West with 10. Casper had 8 digs, Fields & Rosen each managed 4. The only block of the night was a block assist by duo Fields & Wagoner.
