Southwood JH Splits With Oak Hill

The Southwood 7th grade Volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday losing both games 25-16 and 25-21 respectively to Oak Hill. They are now 1-1 on the season.

Maggie Ball had 5 service points with 2 aces, 3 assists, and two digs; Isabel Davis contributed 1 dig; Natalie Haycraft served four service points with an ace, had 2 kills, and 4 digs; Erin McGouldrick had 1 service point and 2 digs; Kandon Pries contributed 5 service points, 2 of them aces, and 6 digs; Rounding out the scoring for the Knights was Mariah Wyatt with 2 service points, one for an ace, 2 kills, 1 block, and four digs.


The Southwood 8th Grade Volleyball Team hosted Oak Hill Wednesday in their second match of the season. Southwood won the match 25-19, 25-22.

On the night Freedom DeWitt had 2 digs; Madison Johnson had 3 service points, 2 digs; Erin Lehner had 2 service points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 9 digs; Kayla Mays had 3 service points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 5 digs; MaKenna Pace had 7 service points, 4 aces, 1 kill, 4 assists, 7 digs; Kirsten Pecsenye had 1 dig; MaKenna Proffitt had 4 service points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 5 digs; Allison Steele had 11 service points, 6 aces, 2 assists, 6 digs.

The 8th grade is 2-0 on the season.

Southwood will return to action on September 16th when they host Huntington Crestview at 6:00pm.
