Lady Squires Swept By Whitko

The Manchester volleyball team fell on hard times Thursday, falling to Whitko 23-25, 21-25, and 13-25.

Leading us in aces was Carter with 2 while the following group, all seniors, had 1: C. Osborne, Casper, and Binkley.  Blocking was another positive tonight with Day leading by adding a solo block to her 2 blocking assists.  C. Osborne held 3 block assists and both Binkley & A. Osborne had 2 of them with McKee wrapping up the net defense with a single block assist.  Defense in the back row was led by Carter with 10, West saved 8, Eichenauer had 7, Auler got up 3, trio Casper, C. Osborne, & Wagoner managed 2, and Binkley grabbed 1.  C. Osborne with 10 assists led the team with co-setter Auler right behind with 8.  A. Osborne was able to step in with 1 assist as well.  And now for the offense, kills were led by Binkley with 10, followed by Carter with 6. Both middles, Day & C. Osborne, attributed 3 while the right sides, McKee & A. Osborne, added in single kills a piece.

The junior varsity fell to Whitko 18-25 & 18-25.

For Jv, aces were led by duo Fields and Rosen with 2 each while West had 1.  Rosen had the only block for her team, a solo block.  Assists were split between setters Casper and West each contributing 3 each.  In the back row, digs were led by Fields with 9, Wagoner got up 7, West grabbed 5, Rosen had 3, and Lauer saved 1. In hitting for the night was even across the board with Lauer, Rosen, and Fields all putting away 3 kills.
