The Southwood Seventh Grade earned their second victory out scoring the North Miami Warriors 32-6. Alex Farr connected on 6 of 8 attempts for 49 yards, including a 21 yard touchdown to Tristan Hayslett. That score was followed by a fumble forced by Mason Yentes and returned Logan Barley for a 49 yard touchdown. In the second half Tristan Hayslett ran for two touchdowns one 43 yards and the second a 27 yard run. Cody Gaylourd added to the excitement with a 55 yard kickoff return just before the half.
On defense Elijah Sutton, Braylen Yeakle, Mason Yentes, Memphis Hiner, Carson Rich, and Connor Rich lead an effort that featured swarming tackles.
The Eighth Grade squad fell 0-36. The Knights shut down the first drive by the Warriors and took over on downs. In their first possession the Knights moved the ball 22 yards before punting. After a score by the Warriors, the Knights moved the ball 75 yards before they fumbled. After that point the game was truly a struggle. Carson Heath had 44 yards receiving, and Gabe Lloyd carried for 80 yards, but nothing could be pieced together.
The defense had the Warriors hemmed in at times, but failed to tackle effectively. Gabe Lloyd forced a fumble, Riley Whitesel recovered the fumble, and Grant Whitham had a tackle for loss.
