Rage Sweep King’s Academy

The Metro Rage JV team hosted the King’s Academy Knights on Tuesday night at the Morrett Sports Complex for a rematch from earlier this season. The Rage were held scoreless until the 31 minute mark when Wyatt Davis (WMS) found the back of the net. Davis would score again two minutes later when Josh Bingham (WhHS) would find Davis running through the backline unmarked. The Rage would take a 2-0 lead into the half and would finish the game with that score.
Tyler Proffitt (SMS) made one save in goal the first half before be relieved by Parker Mays (SHS) who recorded three saves in the second half.

In the varsity game, Wyatt Davis picked up where he left off in the JV game by scoring at the two minute mark after he redirected a Jacob Kreutzmann (NHS) shot that deflected off of the Knight’s goalkeeper. Kreutzmann would get a goal of his own at the 11 minute mark when he snapped off a header from a Josh Hobson (SHS) corner kick. Kreutzmann scored again at the 26 minute mark when he split a defender after receiving a through ball from Wyatt Davis. The Rage were not done scoring as Noah Shear (NHS) sent a low driven ball from 25 yards out to the far post before the Knight’s Goalkeeper could get to it. The Rage would take a 4-0 lead into the half.

The Knights played a high defensive line in the second half to slow the Rage offense down. Logan Peas (NHS) would score at the 53 minute mark with a well placed shot from just inside the 18 yard box. The Knight’s would score a goal of their own at the 57 minute mark when Senior Matt Miner would send a ball through several defenders and into the Rage net before backup goalkeeper Noah Shear could react. Kreutzmann would score the final goal of the night at the 64 minute mark to record his first hat trick of the season.

Tanner Proffitt (SHS) recorded three saves in goal in the first half before being replaced by Shear in the second half. Shear recorded two saves of his own.

The Rage return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Tippecanoe Valley to play the Vikings second year club team.
