The Metro Rage hosted the Rochester Zebra’s JV team on Monday night at the Morrett Sports Complex. Both teams had to overcome a sluggish start, but Noah Shear (NHS) got the Rage on the board at the 12 minute mark when he scored on a low driven ball from just inside the 18 yard box.
Wyatt Davis (WMS) would score his fifth goal in the past two games at the 14 minute mark to increase the Rage lead. Four minutes later, Jacob Kreutzmann (NHS) would score the first of his two goals to give the Rage a 3-0 lead at the half.
The Rage wasted little time in adding to the lead early in the second half. Noah Shear played a through ball to Kreutzmann just outside the box and Kreutzmann dribbled past the lone Zebra defender to slip the ball past the Zebra goalkeeper to make the final score 4-0.
Tanner Proffitt (SHS) and Noah Sher combined to keep the Zebras scoreless for 70 minutes. Proffitt recorded 5 saves and Shear stopped two shots in goal during the final 20 minutes of the game.
The Rage are 8-2 on the season and will return to action next Wednesday when they travel to Eastbrook to play the Panther JV team in a 6pm matchup.
