The Northfield C football team took on Rochester Thursday, falling to the Zebras 35-24.
The Norse grabbed an early 6-0 lead when Jared Vigar ran the opening kick off back 65yds than scored from 3yds outon the first play. The Norse defense would make a stand, forcing a punt but fumbled the punt to give the ball right back to the Zebras. On the Zebras first play Hunter Cox picked off a pass that was followed by a 13 play drive with Kyle Reed scoring from 33yds out for a 13-0 lead.
Rochester would score three times in the second quarter to take a 20-13 lead before the Norse answered before the half. Quarterback Daniel Driscoll threw a pitch to Jared Vigar who connected with Kade Kennedy for a 56yd scoring strike with 48 seconds on the clock to make it 20-19 at the half.
The lone score of the third quarter came from Rochester to open their lead to 28-19.
With the game clock down to 2:49 left in the game Chance Hartman drew the Norse to within striking distance with a 20yd touchdown run to make it 28-25, but the Zebras answered with a score a minute later for the final score of the game, 34-25.
