The Manchester girls basketball team took to the road Tuesday, picking up a win at Central Noble 51-44.
The Squires led 9-8 after the first stop with Rae Bedke getting the two lone buckets, one being a three. Cierra Carter and Ellie Milam each hit two free throws.
The second quarter would be the the deciding factor for the Squires as they out scored Central Noble 12-4 to grab a 21-12 halftime lead. Drew Thompson and Carter each had a long ball with Sydney Day, Bailey Sewell and Carter each hitting a two.
Central Noble would close the gap in the third, out scoring the Squires 16-12 to leave Manchester a 33-28 lead with a quarter to go. The Squires spread the wealth in the quarter with six different players scoring a bucket.
Manchester would hit 10 free throws in the fourth as Central Noble played the foul game trying to catch up, as the Squires won the quarter 18-16 for the 51-44 final.
Leading Manchester was Cierra Carter with 16 points. Rae Bedke added 10, Ellie Milam 8, Sydney Day 7, Drew Thompson 5, Bailey Sewell 4, Emma West 1.
The Manchester junior varsity defeated Central Noble 41-30.
Kennedy Fierstos led Manchester with 17 points. Emma West and Erika Kendall added 6 points each. Jirni Cripe and Rachel Cave had 4 points each, while Kennidy Lauer and Kiera Stacy had 2 points each.
