NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester University earned its third overall and second in the past three weeks’ Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly men’s basketball honor with the release of the awardees for the period ending Jan. 24.
Freshman guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) received his second accolade of the season after a sparkling week. He posted a pair of 30-plus point games during the span, scoring 32 points in a 96-80 loss at Anderson Jan. 20 and closing the week with 33 points, 10 assists, three rebounds and three steals in a 76-74 overtime road win at Earlham Jan. 23.
Johnson’s 10-assist game was the most for an MU player since the 2008-2009 season. For the week, the freshman averaged 32.5 points, two rebounds and five assists per game while shooting 53.1% (26-for-49) from the field and 44.4% from three (four-for-nine).
