It was night two of the Rochester sectional with two Wabash County teams hitting the floor. In an exciting game one the Southwood Lady Knights came from behind to force overtime, then defeat Lewis Cass 46-43. In game two the Northfield Lady Norse had the task of taking on #2 Rochester for the second time in a week, again giving the Zebras fits for three quarters before the host defeated the Norse 50-37.
In game one the Knights grabbed the early lead off buckets from Brooke Elliott and Ashley Parson to lead 4-3 when Cass went on a 9-0 run to go up 12-4. Kassidy Atwood broke the run with an offensive rebound bucket, which also ended the scoring for the quarter with the Knights trailing 12-6.
Cass would hit a three to start the second quarter that was answered by a Taylor Heath three, that was answered by a Cass three for an 18-9 Cass lead. Atwood would hit two free throws to end the scoring for the half as Southwood trailed 29-18.
Things were looking grim for the Knights halfway through the third as they trailed 34-25 when things started to change. Brooke Elliott hit a bucket and a free throw, followed by two Heath free throws to cut the deficit to 34-30 before a Cass three ended the quarter and the Knights trailed 37-30 with a quarter to go.
The Knights needed a good start in the fourth quarter to have a shot and got just that. Makenna Dawes hit a free throw, followed by an Elliott free throw and an Ashley Parson three to make it 37-35. Elliott and Dawes would keep pace with the Cass scoring and with 1:20 left, Elliott drained a three that tied the score at 42.
