Knights Beat The Stripes Off Zebras

The Southwood boys basketball team put a whipping on Rochester Thursday, defeating the Zebras 80-36.

The Knights led 18-9 after one and 39-17 at the half before out scoring the Zebras 41-19 in the second half.

The Southwood junior varsity defeated Rochester 41-32.

The JV Knights started the game with 5 turnovers on the first 6 possessions but overcame this to tie Rochester at the end of the 1st quarter 9-9. They then led at half 15-9. The Zebras made a big run to get within 3 in the 4th (35-32), but an Austin Haynes steal led to a Luke Winer lay-up and the Knights didn’t allow anymore points to take the win 41-32.

Dallas Holmes led with 17 points 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Paul Farlow had 8, 5 rebounds and 2 steals while Payton Ensor scored 6 with 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Haynes had 4 points 2 steals and 2 assists. Winer had 4 points and 2 rebounds. Ethan Roberts scored 2 with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Knights are 12-3 on the season.
