Good Start Lifts Knights Past Northwestern

The Southwood boys basketball team went to Northwestern Saturday and got off to a good start in a 72-56 win over the Tigers.

The Knights jumped on the host off the opening tip, winning the first quarter 22-8 and led 37-31 at the half. The Knights would not let up in the second half, winning the half 35-25 for the 72-56 win.

The JV Knights played in a wildly exciting 67-61 loss to Northwestern. After falling behind by 13 in the 3rd quarter the Knights worked the game into a tie and forced an overtime. Unfortunately they were not able to knock down 5 open shots in the OT and lost.

Dallas Holmes led with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists. Paul Farlow scored 19 with 5 boards and 4 assists. Ethan Roberts added 9 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds. Luke Winer scored 6 points with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Payton Ensor had 7 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 points. Austin Haynes added 3 points.
