The Manchester boys basketball team got a put back buzzer beater from Koehl Fluke Friday to defeat Peru 58-56.
On the road at the Peru the Squires trailed 17-14 after the first quarter. Chase Fierstos and Koehl Fluke each had a three in the quarter with David McAtee getting two buckets, plus one from Braydon Sewell.
The Squires would out score the Tigers 17-12 in the second quarter to grab a 31-29 halftime lead. McAtee would lead the way with 7 points that included a long ball with Fierstos adding 5. Matthew Pegg added a bucket in the quarter.
Manchester would keep the momentum going in the third, winning the quarter 17-14 to extend their lead to 48-43. Five different players scored in the quarter with Fierstos, Sewell and Fluke doing most of the damage. Keelan Norwood and Mason Hamby each added a bucket.
Peru would find the momentum in the fourth, coming back to tie the score and set up the exciting finish. With just seconds left, Chase Fierstos put up a three that was rebounded and put back in by Koehl Fluke at the buzzer to give the Squires a big 58-56 road win.
Leading the Squires was David McAtee with 15 points. Chase Fierstos added 12, Koehl Fluke 12, Braydon Sewell 8, Keelan Norwood 4, Mason Hamby 3, Mattew Pegg 2.
The Manchester junior varsity defeated Peru 55-51.
